Composite Material Process Test and Validation Project for Wide-body Passenger Aircraft Development and Support of COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co.
This project is a composite material process test and validation construction project for the development and support of wide-body passenger aircraft, which is a new plant of Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Company Limited (SAAMCL), located at No.919 Shangfei Road, Pudong Base, Pudong New District, Shanghai, China. Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd (SAAM) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of COMAC and an assembly manufacturing centre, with two bases in Pudong and Dafang. The Pudong base covers an area of 4,049 acres and is mainly responsible for the assembly and integration of ARJ21 new regional jets, C919 large passenger aircraft and CR929 wide-body passenger aircraft, composite material research and development, manufacturing, aeronautical parts and components manufacturing, as well as aircraft maintenance and delivery and other tasks.
The total construction area of the new composite materials plant is about 18,830 square metres. Inside the plant, there are purification rooms, CNC machining rooms, sanding rooms, curing turnover and demoulding areas, non-destructive testing areas, repair areas, equipment rooms and coordination rooms.
The aircraft business carries the heavy trust of the Party and the people, and the historical mission of the development of domestic commercial aircraft industry. We have travelled through the haze, from chaos to clarity, and have spent countless nights and generations of people diligently researching and jointly drawing flowers in the air. SpecChem is honoured to be a member of these ten thousand screws, contributing to the flooring of the new composite material plant! After the competition and unanimous approval of the owner and the general contractor, it was decided to use the epoxy self-levelling system of SpecChem as the flooring material of the plant, which can not only meet the requirements of chemical resistance, abrasion resistance and impact resistance, but also provide a good performance and long-lasting flooring environment to guarantee the staffs' comfortable and clean working atmosphere.
